Multi-component injection molding can help you add value by enabling the production of differentiating products and reducing material costs. Examples of such molded parts are multicolor and soft-touch overmolded products for consumer, automotive, packaging, and other markets.

There are different types of multi-component injection molding processes:

Overmolding:
Components or materials are aligned beside each other, ie.; from the outside two different materials are recognizable.

Sandwich or Co-injection Molding:
The components or materials will be injected into one another, ie.; the core component which can be recycled material for example, will be encapsulated by the outer skin component.

A radical change has been realised on the BHP-nozzle type. This nozzle which is activated either by a hydraulic or pneumatic system has the big advantage of a large and straight-lined melt flow channel. Therefore the shear impact on sensitive materials is minimized and pressure loss is considerably reduced.

The core parts of the nozzle are manufactured to cope with considerable abrasion and use the most upto date coating technologies together with high-quality steel. The nozzle can be deployed for operating conditions of up to 3000bar at 400°C process temperature. This shut-off nozzle type can be adapted to any kind of injection molding machine. Customized nozzle tips can be manufactured according to customer specific dimensions. Typical fields of application are: shear sensitive materials, high injection rates and hot runner applications.

The range of spring actuated needle shut-off nozzles has been modified by the revised SHP (Spring High Performance) nozzle. The revision concept is shaped by a new spring package which is kept fully away from the melt stream. The functionality of the spring is from outside controllable and because of this the general handling of the nozzle is improved.

Through the reduced spring rate can the material load be reduced and as a result of this the system can be kept open with less force. Leakage removal is taken into consideration by means of a larger cross section. The design of the nozzle corresponds to today’s injection molding requirements. Problem-free functionality at 3,000 bar injection pressure and an operating temperature of up to 400°C is guaranteed. A modular construction was realized, comparable with the pneumatic or hydraulic actuated type HP nozzle.

We are integrated in an interesting branch. The plastic industry finds its products applied in every possible area. Global views see plastic as the most important material. Deployment of this relatively expensive material must be targeted and efficiently introduced. It is the aim of the injection moulding industry to design procedures which make sure that plastic can be applied in all circumstances.

As component manufacturers we find ourselves tightly integrated with machine manufacturers. Our aim is to deliver performance products which broaden the machine’s dimensions with technical and economical advantages. In order to pursue this, intensive, targeted communication with the client is required. Through new geographical adjustments to the branch (new EU-member states, China, South America, etc), the component manufacturers and respectively system providers are forced to rethink their organisation. The development of our mid-term strategy moves in the direction of a global focus. Our aim is to work as closely as possible with the system providers and their clientele.
